The
history of Galway Airport has witnessed many ups and downs since its
inception. The only annoying demerit that has been forcing laws and
regulations managing authorities to reconsider over its licensed status
is its marginally short run-way. Back in Oct, 2011 it was totally shut
down for commercial flights. However, it has reopened with a view to
taking the commercial interest back to the Airport. Howsoever, all basic
facilities that are supposed to be essential for a world-class airport
have been integrated with it.
